Biodiversity and characterization of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi at the molecular level
Auteurs: Diederik van Tuinen, H. Dulieu, Adolphe Zézé, V. Gianinazzi-Pearson
Date publication: 1994-01-01
Journal: Birkhäuser Basel
Biodiversity within a biological group provides the basis for distinguishing members into genera and species according to taxonomic criteria, and between individuals within a species depending on more detailed differences at the genetic level. Diversity between species occurs after a genetic barrier has been created either by a geographic or genetic impedance of gene flow. Divergence can continue by nucleotide substitutions and by mutations in a broader sense (deletions, translocations, duplications), and resulting diversity can be evaluated at the molecular level and used as a phylogenetic ch...

Auteurs: Issa Traoré, Zamblé Raoul, Adama Konaté, Joël Christian Adépo, Bernard Cousin, Olivier Asseu
Date publication: 2018-01-01
Journal: Scientific Research Publishing, Inc.
The Software Defined Network (SDN) is a concept based on a decoupling between the control plan and the data plan of a network. Thus, the network becomes programmable and can be coupled to the business applications of the users. The study that is discussed in this article looks at load planning and balancing in distributed controllers. To do this, a model and theoretical methods of performance evaluation related to appropriate software tools, to predict and control the quality of service offered to users is exposed. This paper exposed also a distributed architecture of controllers and then a mo...

Bivalve shells (<i>Corbula trigona</i>) as a new adsorbent for the defluoridation of groundwater by adsorption-precipitation
Auteurs: N’Zébo Sylvestre Yapo, Bi Gouessé Henri Briton, Sadat Aw, L. Reinert, Patrick Drogui, Kopoin Adouby
Date publication: 2021-05-13
Journal: Informa UK Limited
Defluoridation of groundwater was performed in a batch reactor using bivalve shell powder (BSP) as adsorbent. The physicochemical characteristics of BSP, studied by Fourier Transform Infrared, X-ray Diffraction and Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry after dissolution, have shown that BSP was mainly composed of crystalline CaCO3 (∼97.8%). The effects of pH, initial fluoride concentration, adsorbent dose and contact time on the adsorption capacity of BSP were investigated. For an initial fluoride concentration of 2.2 mg/L and with 16 g/L of BSP, after 8 hours of treatment,...

Blow-up for Semidiscretization of Semilinear Parabolic Equation With Nonlinear Boundary Condition
Auteurs: Ardjouma Ganon, Manin Mathurin Taha, Kidjégbo Augustin Touré
Date publication: 2019-09-09
Journal: Canadian Center of Science and Education
This paper deals with the study of the numerical approximation for the following semilinear equation with a nonlinear absorption term ut = uxx&amp;minus; &amp;lambda;up, 0 &amp;lt; x &amp;lt; 1, t &amp;gt; 0, and a nonlinear flux boundary condition ux(0,t) = 0, ux(1,t) = uq(1,t), t &amp;gt; 0. We give conditions under which the positive semidiscrete solution blows up in a finite time. Convergence of the numerical blow-up time to the theoretical one when the mesh size goes to zero is established. Finally, we use an efficient algorithm to estimate the blow-up time.

<i>Borassus aethiopum</i> activated carbon prepared for nitrate ions removal
Auteurs: Horo Koné, Alain Stéphane Assémian, Tagouèlbè Tiho, Kopoin Adouby, Kouassi Benjamin Yao, Patrick Drogui
Date publication: 2021-07-14
Journal: Informa UK Limited
This work aims to study nitrate ions removal using Borassus aethiopum activated carbon (BA-AC) in a synthetic medium. BA-AC was prepared through artisanal method in order to provide a low-cost activated carbon. Physico-chemical characterization of BA-AC has shown a high-specific surface area (1431 m2/g). Analysis of surface morphology by scanning electron microscopy, mean pore diameter (2.76 nm) and adsorption/desorption isotherm resulted in the mesoporous adsorbent. The existence of functional groups (C = O; C–H; C–OH) was highlighted by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy. A percentage o...

In this article, we discuss a vehicle routing problem with time windows (VRPTW) for the transport of perishable products with considera-‎tion of road roughness constraints. The proposed model includes simultaneous pickup and delivery operations. Unlike almost all previous ‎studies, which mainly consider travel distance and temperature as factors in product deterioration, we take into account the roughness condi-‎tions of the roads in order to preserve their quality during transport. The objective is therefore to satisfy a set of customers, while respecting ‎the constraints related to multi-pro...

Bradyrhizobium ivorense sp. nov. as a potential local bioinoculant for Cajanus cajan cultures in Côte d’Ivoire
Auteurs: Romain Kouakou Fossou, Joël F. Pothier, Adolphe Zézé, Xavier Perret
Date publication: 2020-02-01
Journal: Microbiology Society
For many smallholder farmers of Sub-Saharan Africa, pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan) is an important crop to make ends meet. To ascertain the taxonomic status of pigeonpea isolates of Côte d'Ivoire previously identified as bradyrhizobia, a polyphasic approach was applied to strains CI-1BT, CI-14A, CI-19D and CI-41S. Phylogeny of 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes placed these nodule isolates in a separate lineage from current species of the B. elkanii super clade. In phylogenetic analyses of single and concatenated partial dnaK, glnII, gyrB, recA and rpoB sequences, the C. cajan isolates again formed a s...
