Phoneme Sequence Modeling in the Context of Speech Signal Recognition in Language “Baoule”
Auteurs: Hyacinthe Konan, Etienne Soro, Olivier Asseu, Bi Tra Gooré, Raymond Gbégbé
Date publication: 2016-01-01
Journal: Scientific Research Publishing, Inc.
This paper presents the recognition of “Baoule” spoken sentences, a language of C?te d’Ivoire. Several formalisms allow the modelling of an automatic speech recognition system. The one we used to realize our system is based on Hidden Markov Models (HMM) discreet. Our goal in this article is to present a system for the recognition of the Baoule word. We present three classical problems and develop different algorithms able to resolve them. We then execute these algorithms with concrete examples.

Photocatalytic activity of TiO2–P25@n-TiO2@HAP composite films for air depollution
Auteurs: Guy Didier Fanou, Mamadou Traoré, Benjamin Yao, Andreï Kanaev, K. Chhor
Date publication: 2021-01-07
Journal: Springer Science and Business Media LLC
AbstractWe report on an elaboration of new composite photocatalysts (TiO2–P25@ n-TiO2@HAP) based on grafted size-selected 5-nm titanium-oxo-alkoxo nanoparticles on P25-TiO2 nanoparticles and HAP obtained by co-precipitation of salts. The 5-nm oxo-TiO2 particles were prepared in a sol–gel reactor with rapid reagents micromixing. The photocatalytic test of ethylene degradation, in a continuous-flow fixed-bed reactor, showed an increase of the photocatalytic yield for the composite photocatalysts with an addition of HAP. This result was interpreted by a synergy between adsorption and photo-oxidat...

Photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B dye with TiO2 immobilized on SiC foam using full factorial design
Auteurs: Paul Henri Allé, Guy Didier Fanou, Didier Robert, Kopoin Adouby, Patrick Drogui
Date publication: 2020-08-17
Journal: Springer Science and Business Media LLC
Abstract Textile effluents treatment is one of the important environmental challenges nowadays. Photocatalysis has proven its effectiveness for the removal of recalcitrant compounds, and it is considered as a green technology for the treatment of effluents. However, good photocatalytic yield is strongly related to the operating parameters. In this study, a supported TiO 2 on a β-SiC foam was tested for the removal of Rhodamine B (RhB). The photocatalytic discoloration of RhB synthetic solution in our condition was about 90%. The effects of each parameter were assessed through a full factorial...

Physicochemical characterization of three natural clays used as adsorbent for the humic acid removal from aqueous solution
Auteurs: Soumahoro Gueu, G. Finqueneisel, T. Zimny, Danièle Bartier, Benjamin Yao
Date publication: 2018-12-25
Journal: SAGE Publications
Adsorption behaviours of humic acid on three natural clays from Ivory Coast were studied. In order to investigate the adsorption mechanism, characterization of clays and the humic acid–clay complex was conducted by using various analytical methods (attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), specific surface area analysis (BET) and chemical composition). As a result, adsorption process showed that the maximum adsorption capacity of humic acid was achieved at pH = 3 and was found to be to 115 mg/g obtained for the best sample. For al...

In the context of climate change, the Ivorian cotton industry is facing with the loss of sensitivity of pests (Helicoverpa armigera) and the appearance of new so-called emerging insects. Faced with this situation, cotton producers tend to use insecticide products in high doses, in excess of the norm. However, the misuse of chemical products poses many health risks. Therefore, to limit the use of chemicals, aqueous extracts of local plants with insecticidal properties were examined in the laboratory and in the field. Four local plant species were selected [Anacardium occidentale (Anarcardier);...

Many of Euphorbiaceae species are recognized as traditional medicinal plants and the oils and latex of many species have also economic importance. In fact, Euphorbia heterophylla L., belonging to this family and popularly known in Brazil as “leiteira”, “flor-de-poetas” and wild poinsettia, has been used traditionally in Africa and India to treat many kinds of health disorders. However, the chemical composition of this species has been little studied so far. In the present investigation, the flavonoids quercitrin (quercetin 3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside), hyperin (quercetin 3-O-β-D-galactopyranoside...

Political Instability, Industry and Economic Growth in ECOWAS
Auteurs: Modupe Ake, Jean Baptiste Tiémélé
Date publication: 2024-10-01
Journal: SCIRES WEB - RITHA Publishing
According to the economic literature, the influence of political instability on economic activity is ambiguous. In the case of ECOWAS, we attempt to verify whether political instability conditions the effect of industrial performance on growth. The aim of our study is to verify the relationship between industrial performance and economic growth in ECOWAS under the influence of political instability over the period 1990-2018. To this end, we estimate a non-linear model using the Pool Mean Group (PMG) method. Our results show that political instability negatively influences the effect of industr...
